Use Hypnotism for a Healthy Weight
72If you're looking for an effective way to get a healthy weight then one of the best tool is surely Hypnotism, or Hypnosis. To be really successful at losing weight there are many techniques and tools and programs but you must take into account your mind and not only your body. That's why some targeted Self Hypnosis techniques can be extremely useful.
And why do we need Hypnotism and the mind for a healthy weight since there are so many "light" foods to choose from? Well, I'll tell you a little secret:"Light" foods don't work! And it is not your fault, in a world of thin people no one would buy "light" foods, right? The reason why they don't work is that taking away fats from foods what remain are mostly sugars, a little proteins, and a lot of chemical additives. Since fats play a big role in making you feel that you've eaten enough usually with "light" foods you are more or less always hungry and so you end up eating a lot of them, since they are "light", am I wrong?
And if you want to check if I'm saying the truth try the difference between eating a slice of bread and butter and eating a box of "light" snacks, which one makes you feel filled before? I bet that bread and butter wins. Now go and check what has more calories between them. Or you are really able to eat only one of those "light" snacks?
On the other side if you are not eating enough calories your body will think you are starving and beside consuming as little energy as it can it will transform everything in fats, just to be sure you don't starve to death.
Reaching a healthy weight can be as simple or as complicated as you wish, I use the simple approach and for me it works pretty well. Maybe it can be the same for you.
Now, Hypnotism is a wonderful tool, and it can be used for almost everything and it can work pretty well to lose weight. It's not a kind of magical bullet, but it can be a great help. Nothing will work without your will power. It is so simple and this is why knowing the right Self Hypnosis techniques can be really of help.

Hypnotism for a Healthy Weight Basics
Mainly there are two reasons for being overweight:
- Your body doesn't work properly.
- You eat too many calories with respect to the calories you burn.
If your body doesn't work properly then a good doctor will help you to find the reasons for it, maybe you have an hormonal imbalance, or you don't produce the right hormones, you have genetic predisposition to being overweight or other physical issues. If instead your body is fine and you eat more calories than you need to keep reading and maybe I can help you. Remember to always check with your doctor first.
Don't find excuses, if your body works well and you are overweight this means that either you eat too much, or you eat wrong foods, probably a kind of junk hyper-caloric foods. Sorry if I'm too direct but I wrote this hub to help you, not to pamper you, I hope you appreciate sincerity. And this is great, because if you're eating too much eating less you'll get to a healthy weight; it is that simple.
I'll repeat the concept: if you are eating too much eating less you'll become thin again.
If you will it, it is no dream!
Healthy Weight : Food and Calories
Eating a lot of food and eating a lot of calories are two completely different things. A bowl of salad has a lot less calories than a box of biscuits; so if you like to eat in order to get a healthy weight you just have to modify your habits.
As an example if you have five meals a day and two are made of fruit, two of proteins and vegetables and one of carbohydrates and vegetables then there are very few possibilities that you become overweight, even if you eat a good amount of food.
On the other hand if you eat three times a day but your food is made of carbohydrates and fats even if you eat a smaller quantity the amount of calories is very high.
Now, there are many good hubs around explaining pretty well the different approaches you can have to weight loss. My procedure, which will be reinforced through Self Hypnosis techniques, consists of three steps. Three steps which will be pretty easy to follow and won't require you to change completely your life.
These three steps can be added to almost any other weight loss program you are following, and they should fit almost everyone, but just in case always check first with your doctor, or dietician, or nutritional therapist, or whoever else is following you. Obviously they work also on their own.
Keep in mind though that your expense of energy is a big player here: if you eat like an NFL player and move and train like him then you'll have a pretty fit and strong body; but if you move only to play with your PSP then obviously all that food will only make you fat like a Sumo fighter, and without his strength.
Healthy Weight in Three Steps
- Copy eating habits from the ones that are already healthily slim. People in Japan or Thailand are pretty much fitter than in the West and my friend anglnwu has written a very good hub on why Thai people are so skinny which is well worth reading. The link is down below. Obviously keep in mind that if you eat like a Sumo fighter you'll have the same body of a Sumo fighter. Nevertheless in Japan since the common diet is built around fish, rice and vegetables and almost everyone there is thin using this as a good example of eating habits will probably give you the same results.
- Keep It Simple: avoid junk food, processed food, "light" food, OGM..... Go as organic as possible. This could be the right time to start growing your own vegetables. Drink water or sugar free Tea, cook simply without sauces as a bit of olive oil and marine salt is usually enough. Again here I use the Japanese approach to have as little passages as possible from nature to our mouth, not that I endorse eating raw fish though as it can have parasites and other harmful substances. But the principle is pretty right, as an example you could substitute pasta with a soup made with whole wheat grains, and adding steamed vegetables and fish you can have a great complete dish. Pretty tasteful. Beside some Extra Virgin Olive Oil usually there is no need to add other fats, as they are already present in meat, fish, milk or cheese.
- Chew every mouthful at least Twenty Times. This is the greatest advice of Macrobiotic and it makes wonders for both your digestion and nutrients' absorption.
Forget about quantities, grams, pounds and so on and follow this simple rule: Chew every mouthful twenty times.If you can just remember one point this one is the single most important for a healthy weight. And I'll tell you why: our wonderful body when it has reached the amount of food needed sends a signal to our brain that it's time to stop. Since this signal travels slowly usually there is a delay from five to ten or more minutes; all the food eaten in this time is not needed and 99% will go to fat tissue. Chewing our food well makes it possible to shorten this delay and makes it easier to eat only the right amount of food. And obviously absorbing as many nutrients as possible from our food we need to eat a smaller quantity. So remember this:
Don't eat like if there is no tomorrow, chew twenty times and you'll need no scale ever.
If you want to check this out try this simple experiment: one day for dinner eat as usual, the day after prepare the same dinner with equal quantities and chew from the beginning every mouthful twenty times, I bet you will feel satiated well before your plate is empty.
And if you want to test if you're really eating too many calories make this experiment: for one week write down on a desk pad any time you open your mouth to eat or drink something recording also what kind of food or drink and the quantity. At the end of the week check it out and see the result.
Now I'm going to tell you the two Self Hypnosis Suggestions that can help you to eat Healthy Foods and to Chew every mouthful twenty times. There are many other things which can help you to get a healthy weight, but for me these are the most important of all.
Hypnotism 1: Suggestion to Eat Healthy Food
As usual, if you haven't already read my other hubs on Self Hypnosis Techniques, now it's the right time to do it; especially the Learn Self Hypnosis series.
Desired Outcome: to eat healthy food instead of junk food.
Say to your subconscious:
Dear Subconscious, you know everything about me, and we both know that to remain healthy and to have a better shape we need to eat healthy, natural food. You know what kind of food I need to sustain myself, and you know what kind of food I need to be healthy and fit; so I'd like to establish this new permanent directive:
I KNOW THAT EATING HEALTHY FOOD I CAN BE HEALTHIER AND FITTER.
I WANT TO EAT HEALTHY FOOD SO I CAN BE HEALTHIER AND FITTER.
Repeat three times each sentence.
FROM NOW ON I'LL EAT HEALTHY FOOD SO I'LL BE HEALTHIER AND FITTER.
Repeat three times.
Now remain with your eyes closed and visualize, or imagine, clearly yourself eating healthy food and reaching your natural, healthy weight.
IMAGINE THE ACHIEVED OUTCOME AND FEEL HOW YOUR LIFE WILL CHANGE FOR THE BETTER.
DAILY REPETITION: EATING HEALTHY FOOD WILL MAKE ME HEALTHY AND FIT.
Hypnotism 2: Suggestion to Chew Twenty Times
Desired Outcome: to remember to chew every mouthful at least twenty times.
Say to your subconscious:
Dear Subconscious, you know that chewing well the food we eat is very important to digest it well, and chewing well every food is also pretty useful to eat only the food I need and to avoid overeating; so I'd like to establish this new permanent directive:
I KNOW THAT WHEN I EAT I CAN REMEMBER TO CHEW EACH MOUTHFUL AT LEAST TWENTY TIMES.
I WANT TO REMEMBER TO CHEW EACH MOUTHFUL AT LEAST TWENTY TIMES.
Repeat three times each sentence.
FROM NOW ON WHEN I EAT I'LL REMEMBER TO CHEW EACH MOUTHFUL AT LEAST TWENTY TIMES.
Repeat three times.
IMAGINE THE ACHIEVED OUTCOME AND FEEL HOW YOUR LIFE WILL CHANGE FOR THE BETTER.
DAILY REPETITION: I CHEW EACH MOUTHFUL AT LEAST TWENTY TIMES.
Muscles = No Fat
Conclusion
There is a fourth step to lose weight: exercise, exercise and exercise. There is very little place for fat where there are muscles. Plus muscles burn calories 24/7, even at rest. And they also give you a beautiful shape. So move your body, begin with walking or biking and then find an activity that you like and exercise, a little everyday is the best thing you can do to regain your healthy weight.

Interesting hub on weight loss and self hypnosis, hypnodude. I would say that I see more weight loss clients than any other condition. Weight seems to be a thing that a lot of people no longer think that they have any control over, and they don't take the simple steps that could actually let them lose a fair bit.
Very informative! I tried the counting thing before, I really need to do it again because I'm usually like the guy in the picture who puts his hand to his head as if in disbelief to how much I weigh. Not as bad as some, but could still lose a few pounds. I like the talk with the subconscious mind, it's like OK, you know me, you know what I want, let's just do this thing! Straight to the point with an element of humor.

Lots of useful info in here Hypnodude. Just wondering - for big kids. Sometimes I don't blame them being overweight, what with the Chemicals in food. What is the earliest age they can practice this? or is not allowed for Teenagers...?

Our minds are a very powerful tool. Self hypnosis and positive thinking are the key steps. Good points that you have made.
Yes, I think hypnosis is the way forward when it comes to weight loss. There's already SO MUCH information about dieting and exercising, but despite all of this people are still getting bigger! We know exactly what we need to do (more exercise and eat the right foods), but we can't get our selves to take consistent action. This is because of a mental barrier formed by our need to have to be consistent with our image of ourselves. If you've always known yourself to be fat, then your mind won't allow you to lose weight simply because it fears change. My favourite hypnotist I must say is a guy called Major Mark Cunningham. Unfortunately I haven't found anything regarding weight loss on his website www.trucor.com, but there are a number of inductions that I found helpful.
Wow this is a challenging Hub to me! I'm going to keep these ideas in mind. I tend to love my food and it shows. Chew each mouthful 20 times? Gotta try that one out.

rated it up, am so glad to be the first one to read this one, I am skinny forever, but healthy and strong, 100 lbs is all and I agree with you, you eat lots you burn it like the NFL player. I eat anything, I dont care as much fats I eat as I burn it by working around the house, walking and just moving. I like your self motivation advices and tips as well.
