Mind Secret: Know Your Mind
81Our Mind and its Secret
What is the Secret of our Mind, How is it organized? Is it possible to know our Mind better and to use it to our own advantage?
If we see our Mind as a cake now I'm going to show you how it works and how it's organized, piece by piece.
Know Your Mind
Conscious mind: the part that at any given moment we are aware of. Thoughts, reasonings, sensations, feelings.... It's what we usually call Mind.
Subconscious mind: what we are not usually aware of. Deals mainly with our body, instincts, memories, automatic response to stimuli... Mainly it deals with our Body.
Unconscious mind: this is sometimes called our Higher Self. Usually we can't access this part of our mind. Let's call it our Spirit.
Putting aside the Unconscious we have two parts of our mind with which we can deal with. But I've found it better to divide them more as follows:
Conscious
Dark Conscious
Higher Subconscious
Inner Subconscious
The four pieces
Let's start from the beginning:
Conscious: this is what we are aware of at any given moment. I'm aware that I'm writing this article, you are aware that you are reading it, making decision about its value and so on. Its range of knowledge can shift as we move our attention: as an example if I ask you if you are sitting comfortable then you immediately become aware of your position, moving it from the subconscious part to the conscious one. The key word here is Attention.
Dark Conscious: this is the dark part of our mind. The place where negative thoughts live and remain alive. Thoughts like "I can't do that", or "That's dangerous", and so on. I identify it with that part of ourselves which remains, so to speak, a scared child. It's the part of our mind which prevents us most from achieving our goals. The key word here is Fear.
Higher Subconscious: This is were actions, concepts and thoughts from conscious mind get impressed in subconscious. They become learned Habits, either good or bad. All those things that we learn in life becoming second nature are here: riding a bicycle, driving a car, swimming... And some bad too like smoking, negative thinking habit, nail biting, hair pulling....This is where hypnosis, self-hypnosis, positive thinking, affirmations and all those mental techniques works. Basically substituting bad directives with good directives. The key word here is Habit.
Inner Subconscious: this is the hot part. This is were the professional come into play. Here is the button room of ourselves, where everything about our body is known, even if not consciously, and everything is directed and can be changed. When through hypnosis or affirmations you are able to increase your immune system here is where the instructions are sent to the right body part. When in a split second you are able to make a one meter jump to avoid a car which is hitting you here is where those commands to your muscles are given. When you are searching your mind for an information that's on the tip of your tongue here is where it's stored and retrieved.
Here whatever happened to you in your life is recorded and stored and can be, sometimes not so easily, retrieved. Here whatever happens inside, or around, your body is known and dealt with. Usually, but not always, with the only goal of surviving and remaining alive. This is a very powerful part of our mind, as in case of need it can give immediate instructions directly to muscles. This is what happens when you move so fast that after you're not even able to remember what happened, you just acted. Or when you decide not to breath with your conscious mind but at a certain point your body reacts and you are forced to breath. Here the key word is Command Center.
Summing up
How do they connect?
They are all part of the same cake, when we are awake our
subconscious is at "rest", but always ready to take control if needed.
Our conscious mind during sleep is at rest but if an emergency arises is
ready to act immediately. Everything is changing and interchanging and
mixed together. But there are some rules which can help to see how they are connected:
1. Mind rules body.
2. Body in certain occasions can overcome mind.
3. Subconscious is where our inner powers reside.
4. We can become aware of our inner powers and use them at will.
5. Conscious is needed to direct subconscious.
6. Conscious can give new instructions, either good or bad.
7. Once approved instructions becomes habits, automatically applied.
8. For new instructions to be approved conscious and subconscious
must agree and work together.
That is:
To live better and use more our abilities we need to use our conscious
mind to direct our subconscious which sometimes works on wrong
instructions or is affected by bad habits while at the same time we need
to take advance of our subconscious knowledge and powers. Listening to
our inner voice, reducing the power of our scared dark conscious, substituting bad habits with good habits, using well our
will power and demonstrating to our higher subconscious how to work
better can give us a completely different wonderful life.
Or: We must use our Attention (Will Power) to reduce our Fear, establish
good Habits and have access to our inner Command Center.

The mind is most definitely a labyrinth with billions of cells. A computer to our very souls. I loved the way you so precisely put this together to make it such an interesting read. I enjoyed it very much. Bravo
Very interesting read. If only it were as easy to control the mind as it was to read about it here. :)
