Why I left HubPages for Blogging
72HubPages VS Blogging
Hi my friends and fellow hubbers, after having being away from HubPages I've had the thought that I've been pretty impolite disappearing without a word so I guess it's time to explain why I left HubPages and all friends I made here to go blogging on my own.
Well, simply said at one point I stopped feeling at home, and not for my friends' fault. Now, every website owner has the right to decide his policy and to act as he will, just like it's my right to disagree with. So, after all those issues with pictures previously approved and later banned and some other things I felt somehow hurt and decided to leave. Knowing that a big part of my friends would have tried to stop me I just left without a word.
And as I said above it has been impolite and I beg your pardon for it. But it has also been a blessing. And a very wise decision. I love blogging and it gives me the freedom I needed.
I started my own Self Improvement and Hypnosis website and after a period of stasis now I'm having a good amount of traffic but less than here at HubPages and the earnings have raised a lot while here I just make around 10 bucks a month, usually less. Less traffic and more money, it might be that I just get targeted traffic anyway. Not that it's easy money though because blogging on your own all duties are on your back, so to say.
Probably it has to do to the fact that I'm not that active here anymore or that I haven't well optimized my old hubs for keywords and this affects my HubPages earnings. Something that I should do the first day I don't have to deal with my site. Only that everyday I have something to do on my blog.
I follow my own rules and up to now I haven't had any problem with Google, my earning have increased and I got in touch with very good bloggers who are teaching me the tricks of the trade and make me a better blogger. I'm very satisfied. Also because everything I do benefits the person who does it, that is me. No one earns from my work except me. Blogging is not easy money and it took me almost a year to begin understanding the tricks of the trade. On that side it's much more easy to understand how to do well on HubPages.
Clearly this is also a consequence of what I've learned here at HubPages where there are many great writers who I guess could be even more successful at their own website, like I am. But I also miss my friends here, also those who like me have left HubPages and I don't know how to find them. Anyway I just needed to give an explanation about the reasons why I left more or less suddenly HubPages and why I quit answering to comments; it's not that what you say is not important for me, it's that I've gone blogging on my own and I don't really have time to reply to comments. But if any of you my friends wants to keep in touch you can find me at my blog where you can also tell me where you are if you have your own website.
It has been a pleasure to know each of you.

Update April 2012
Strange as it seems these days I'm earning more with HubPages than on my own blog, probably it has to do with some issues with AdSense, mainly unrelevant ads as it happens too often. And it also has to do with the fact that I begun editing my old hubs. Both ways are not for easy money but I think now that it makes sense to take care of my HubPages account together with blogging on my own.
Who knows, it could even happen that I write a couple more hubs, just to reach 40. Any idea?

Miss you hypnodude! Wishing you lots of joy and prosperity in the new year!
Thanks for the explaination. We still miss you, though. Good luck on your website.
Good luck Hypnodude. We will miss you.
I missed you and was happy to see you publish a hub. I too have been very slow with Hubpages lately, though I never had issues with Hubpges, it's just that I am focused in writing in other places, mainly my blogs. I will check your blog, and perhaps we can follow each other. :)
Best of luck in all your adventure's.
Thanks for your interest in my other blogs. I have two:
www.savvyexaminer.com and http://cloudnine.hillarymilesproductions.com
I'll be sure to check out yours too.
Cheers!
I just followed you. :) The email starts with dawnmarie. :) I will send you the link later via Facebook on to a new blog/website I am creating. Should be ready by the end of this month.
You're right about being talked into sticking around. That's exactly what I did right after I wrote my goodbye hub. I'm branching out slowly but surely, but I've left a little bit of room still for this place. For the readers. Not for the owners.
Good luck with the new site Hypnodude!
hypnodude,
So truthful and helpful. I have toyed with the idea of leaving and starting my own blog. I have a hard time with change. I greatly appreciate your thoughtful and respectful words of advise. Thank you!
